Redwood
Don’t miss your chance to see Broadway legend Idina Menzel’s return to the stage in a wholly original, deeply rooted musical, which she conceived of with Tony-winning director Tina Landau. Top Shows on Broadway in May 2025
The Last Five Years
The Last Five Years has been a cherished favorite of theater kids across the country since it first debuted Off-Broadway in the early 2000s starring Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie Rene Scott. After nearly 25 years, Jason Robert Brown’s tragic love story between struggling actress Cathy and acclaimed writer Jamie has finally made its Broadway debut at the Hudson Theatre, with Adrienne Warren and Nick Jonas starring as the ill-fated couple whose romance sparks and snuffs out over the course of just half a decade.
“It’s a really encouraging thing to look out in the audience each night and see the reaction from people who come ready to see a show they probably know and love, but leave seeing it in a totally new and imaginative way,” Jonas told Ticketmaster recently in an exclusive interview. “I’m just thrilled to get to be doing it on the Broadway stage for the first time.”

Real Women Have Curves
Based on the original 1987 stage play by Josefina López (and subsequent 2002 HBO film starring America Ferrera), Real Women Have Curves is a musical take on the story of Ana García, a young Latina woman working in her family’s East Los Angeles garment factory as she follows her dreams. With a Tony-nominated score by Joy Huerta and Benjamin Velez and a book by Lisa Loomer with Nell Benjamin, Real Women Have Curves is now playing at the James Earl Jones Theatre starring newcomer Tatianna Córdoba in her Broadway debut alongside Justina Machado, who also nabbed a 2025 Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance as Ana’s mother, Carmen.

Dead Outlaw
Dead Outlaw is alive with seven Tony nominations! Following its acclaimed Off-Broadway run throughout 2024, the one-of-a-kind musical from David Yazbek, Erik Della Penna and Itamar Moses has officially transferred to Broadway at the Longacre Theatre, and has officially earned nominations for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score of a Musical and Best Direction of a Musical alongside acting nods for stars Andrew Durand and Julia Knitel. Dead Outlaw was inspired by the life — and unforgettable afterlife — of Elmer McCurdy, a Wild West train robber-turned-corpse whose mummified body became a national celebrity on America’s traveling carnival circuit during the first half of the 20th century.
Ahead of scoring his own Tony nod for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, cast member Jeb Brown (who plays double duty as the show’s bandleader and bank robber Jarrett) shared his “wild and restless” pre-show playlist with Ticketmaster; it includes tracks by Punch Brothers, Johnny Cash, Rosemary Clooney, and The Band.

Just in Time
Jonathan Groff steps into the well-heeled shoes of legendary crooner Bobby Darin in Just in Time, the new biopic musical at Circle in the Square Theatre. Developed and directed by two-time Tony winner Alex Timbers with a book by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver, the show features tunes from the late singer’s celebrated songbook — from early hits like “Splish Splash” and “Dream Lover” to career-defining tracks like “Beyond the Sea” and “18 Yellow Roses.” The splashy production, which transforms the theater into a veritable nightclub, earned six Tony nominations, including acting nods for Groff and co-star Gracie Lawrence as the trailblazing Connie Francis.

The stage legend — who just earned her 11th career nomination on May 1 — shines as Mama Rose opposite Danny Burstein as Herbie, Joy Woods as Louise and Jordan Tyson as Baby June. Featuring famous numbers like “Let Me Entertain You,” “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “You Gotta Get a Gimmick” and “Rose’s Turn,” Gypsy has now been extended through October 5.

Maybe Happy Ending
Originally developed in South Korea, Maybe Happy Ending has become a bonafide Broadway sensation with 10 Tony nominations under its inventive belt. The musical imagines battery-charged life for Oliver and Claire, two helper robots whose human owners have discarded them in late 21st century Seoul. The pair of humanoids develop an unexpected connection that goes against all their programming — but can they discover love before they’re rendered technologically obsolete?
“If I was a little Asian girl in the audience of Maybe Happy Ending, Claire would be my dream role,” Maybe Happy Ending’s Hannah Kevitt told Ticketmaster in an exclusive interview, “and to get to work on your dream role on Broadway is such an immense gift and privilege.”
